Paul McCandless with Charged Particles

Grammy winning saxophonist and reed player Paul McCandless is bringing alive his repertoire of original compositions featured on his solo records in collaboration with Charged Particles, showcasing the music with a fresh twist and new energy.  The quartet premiered their collaboration on the main stage at the famed jazz club Yoshi’s San Francisco in 2014 and finally brings it to the Deer Head Inn.  The music includes swinging jazz, funky fusion-ish tunes, romantic ballads, purely improvised adventures, and original McCandless styles that have no names.  The sets at the Deer Head will allow listeners to enjoy these four musicians as they explore the musical mind of one of today’s living geniuses.  McCandless fans will be treated to the opportunity to hear him again live in this unusual setting.  Known for soaring lyricism and gorgeous compositions, McCandless recently celebrated his 45th anniversary as co-leader of the jazz super-group Oregon.
