’90 | ’70 | ’50: EXPANSIONS: THE DAVE LIEBMAN GROUP CELEBRATES THE MUSIC OF JOHN COLTRANE

NEA Jazz Master Dave Liebman will be holding a year-long commemoration to honor John Coltrane’s 90th birthday, Liebman’s 70th birthday, and the 50th anniversary of Coltrane’s death. Later this year there will be a release of “Compassion” originally recorded in 2007 for the BBC (release by Resonance Records) featuring Lieb and Joe Lovano with an all-star rhythm section playing a wide variety of the Coltrane repertoire.
